I joined the team 1999 we were known as the Dragon Busters We changed the name after we learned its not a good thing to bust a Dragon we were then called Waves Of Hope .I was diagnosed in 1998 Had a mastectomy ,chemo which lasted 91/2 months had trouble with my white blood count always going down. The best thing that could happen was joining the team the support and friendship ,got into shape and never thought I would get into a Dragon Boat to race .I have one son Chad ,'Daughter in law Suzette And my most adored grandsons Mykhailo ,Sasha, and Vasyl who live in Sherwood Park Alberta. Over the years I worked as a hairdresser. did office work in Edmonton and worked at a nursing Home . I am retired .I've been paddling over 25 years and love it.
