I was first diagnosed with Breast cancer in 1998 and had lumpectomies followed by a mastectomy followed by 6 months of chemo. Sarah and Tom were teenagers at the time. I was 38 and had no family history of BC.

I joined the team in 2000 and did some paddling until Willa Fowles taught me how to steer! Oh my nerves....but I do love being on the team and having such close friends.

I had a lymph node on my collar bone flare up in Dec. 2018 and had a biopsy and radiation to treat that.

In the meantime, amongst appointments of all kinds, life carries forward and my husband and I are now the happy grandparents of 5 grandchildren, all under the age of five.

Life is good.
